Zo is er al veel onderzoek gedaan naar bosbessen en vlierbessen, maar er is naast de acerola bes (boordevol vitamine C) nog een superbes: de Goji bes. In de laatste\u00a0 jaren hebben we telkens de opkomst gezien van een \u2018superfood\u2019. Eerst was het Nooni, daarna Xango en nu is de eer aan \u2018Goji\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>De beroemde Li Qing Yuen, die volgens overlevering een leeftijd heeft bereikt van 252 jaar (1678-1930), at iedere dag Goji bessen. Hij was 14 keer getrouwd en had toen hij stierf elf generaties nakomelingen. Het leven van Li Qing Yuen is de meest bekende gedocumenteerde zaak betreffende extreem lang leven tot nu toe. Deze Goji bessen groeien in beschermde valleien in miljoen jaren oude grond in gecultiveerde gebieden in Mongoli\u00eb en Tibet. De planten groeien als struiken met ranken tot wel 5 meter lang. De bessen zijn nooit met de hand aangeraakt omdat ze oxideren en zwart worden als ze aangeraakt worden als ze rijp zijn. Ze worden op matten geschud, en daarna in de schaduw gedroogd.<br \/>\nDe Goji bes heeft een diep rode kleur en is ongeveer net zo groot als een rozijn. Ze smaken ongeveer als een kruising tussen een cranberry en een kers.<br \/>\nEen juiste hoeveelheid per dag is ongeveer 10 tot 30 gr. (een kleine hand vol). Goji bessen kunnen als snack of in recepten gebruikt worden of in \u2018smoothies\u2019 net als ander gedroogde vruchten.<br \/>\nDeze Tibetaanse bes, ook wel bekend als de wolfsbes, groeit in het Himalaya gebied en wordt daar gedroogd en o.a. ge\u00ebxporteerd naar de Verenigde Staten waar de bes steeds bekender aan het worden is naast de acerola bes en de macai bes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Goji-bessen bevatten:<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a019 aminozuren (zes keer meer dan bijenpollen), de belangrijke bouwstenen van eiwitten in je lichaam<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a08 essenti\u00eble aminozuren ( zoals isoleucine en tryptophan)<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a021 mineralen (de voornaamste zijn zink, ijzer, koper, calcium, geranium, selenium en fosfor)<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a013% hoogwaardig eiwit<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0een groot spectrum aan caroteno\u00efden inclusief b\u00e8tacaroteen (meer dan in wortelen) en\u00a0 zeaxanthin (belangrijk voor de ogen)<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>meer vitamine C dan sinaasappels<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0B-complex vitamines die een rol spelen bij het omzetten van voedsel naar energie<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>vitamine E (komt zelden voor in fruit)<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0b\u00e8ta-sitosterol, een ontstekkingsremmer<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0sesquiterpenoiden (cyperone, solavetivone)<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0tetrapenoiden (zeaxantine, physaline) en betaine<br \/>\n<strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Goji bessen bevatten polysachariden die het immuunsysteem verbeteren. De polysacharide in dit fruit gevonden, is een krachtig hormoon, dat de secretie bevordert van het verjongings- en groeihormoon afgegeven door de pijnappelklier.<\/p>\n<p>Goji bessen worden traditioneel beschouwd als leeftijd verlengend, krachtopbouwend, en als een seksueel potentieel voedsel van de hoogste orde. In verscheidene groepen van ouderen werd de bes een maal per dag gegeven gedurende drie weken. Er werden veel gunstige resultaten ervaren; 67% van de functies van de T cellen van de pati\u00ebnten verdrievoudigden en de functie van de interleukin-2 witte cellen verdubbelde.
